Ingredients

Squid and Peppers
- 1 lb squid
- 6 sweet mini peppers
- 1.5 c Milk
- 2 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 3 c Canola oil
- 1 c Flour
- 0.5 c Cornstarch
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Old Bay
- 0.5 tsp Cayenne pepper
- Lemon, garnish
- chili oil

Directions

Cleaning and Cutting the Squid and Peppers
1. Clean your squid.
2. Cut your squid into circles or long strips if you would like.
3. Do the same thing with your sweet peppers.
4. Place your squid in one bowl and your peppers in another bowl.
Preparing the Marinade
1. To a mixing bowl add milk, vinegar and salt.
2. Whisk together and let sit for 5 minutes before covering your squid and peppers with the milk mixture.
3. Pour the mixture over the squid and peppers just to cover.
4. Place both in the refrigerator for 30 min -1 hour.
Preparing the Flour Mixture
1. Add your flour, cornstarch, and baking powder along with Old Bay, cayenne pepper, kosher salt and black pepper to a bowl.
2. Mix well.
3. Dredge your calamari in your flour mixture.
4. Do the same thing to your peppers.
5. Let this sit on your calamari for 3 minutes before frying.
Frying the Calamari and Peppers
1. Fry your calamari at 355° Fahrenheit until golden brown and crispy.
2. Do the same to your peppers.
3. Once they are done frying, remove them from the hot oil and drain them on a paper towel.
Serving the Dish
1. Serve calamari and peppers hot and add your favorite sides, like chili crunch oil.
