Main Ingredients
- 10 oz King oyster mushrooms
- 1 lb Sea Scallops
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 0.25 cup Soy sauce
- 0.25 cup Brown sugar
- 3 tsp Rice wine vinegar
- 0.25 tsp Black pepper
- 2 tbsp Sesame seeds
- 0.5 cup water
- 1 tsp Cornstarch

Preparing the Mushrooms
1. Cut the tops off your king oyster mushrooms.
2. Slice the tops into thin slices and set aside.
3. Cut your king oyster mushrooms into 1 inch pieces.
4. Score the mushrooms on both sides horizontally and vertically.
5. In a hot oiled pan, add your king oyster mushrooms.
6. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
7. Remove from the pan.
Preparing the Scallops
1. Pat your scallops dry.
2. Optional: score your scallops to resemble the mushrooms.
3. Sprinkle the scallops with salt.
4. In a hot oiled pan, add your scallops.
5. Cook on one side for 2 minutes and flip and cook for another minute.
6. Remove from the pan.
Making the Teriyaki Sauce
1. In the same pan, add your sliced mushroom tips.
2. Saute for a minute before adding your minced garlic.
3. Add rice wine vinegar, soy sauce and brown sugar.
4. Stir to dissolve the brown sugar.
5. In a small bowl, mix ½ cup of water and 1 tsp of cornstarch until dissolved.
6. Add this cornstarch slurry to the pan and bring the sauce to a boil.
7. Reduce to a simmer and add black pepper and sesame seeds.
8. Remove from heat.
9. Add your mushrooms and scallops back into the pan and coat in your teriyaki sauce.
10. Enjoy immediately.
