Taro and Sago in Coconut Milk
- 2 lb taro
- 0.5 c sago
- 400 ml Coconut milk, 1 can
- 2 c water
- rock sugar
- 6 c water, for boiling sago

Preparing the Sago
1. Bring 6 cups water to a boil in a pot and add the sago.
2. Stir continuously for 10 minutes to avoid clumping.
3. Turn off the heat after 10 mins and let it cook with the lid on for around 15 minutes until the sago becomes transparent.
4. Prepare an ice bath with enough water to completely submerge the sago.
5. Pour the sago into the ice bath.
Preparing the Taro
1. Peel and cut the taro into small chunks based on the size you prefer.
2. Boil in a pot for around 10-15 minutes.
3. If you can easily stick a fork through the taro, then it is done.
Final Steps
1. In another pot, add the coconut milk, water and rock sugar, bring to a boil.
2. Add in the sago and taro.
3. It is optional to mash some of the taro along with the chunks.
4. Mix well.
