Beef Stew
- 3 lbs beef flank
- 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 6 Ginger, slices
- 3 tbsp Light soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Dark soy sauce
- 0.5 c Shaoxing wine
- 1 tbsp Oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 3 Star anise, pieces
- 6 clove Garlic
- 3 Bay leaves
- 2 lbs daikon radish
- 4 tbsp water, mix with 3 tsp cornstarch
- 3 Green onion, cut into 1 inch pieces

Preparing the Beef
1. Add the cut beef into a pot of cold water and bring to a boil.
2. Let it cook for 2 minutes to remove any impurities.
3. Drain the beef, rinse and set aside.
Using the Instant Pot
1. Set your Instant Pot on the saute setting, add in the oil and ginger slices and cook for 3 minutes.
2. Add the blanched beef, Shaoxing wine, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, star anise, bay leaves, and sugar.
3. Seal the Instant Pot, and turn on the meat/stew setting for 40 minutes.
4. Once the time is up, allow the Instant Pot to release pressure naturally.
Adding the Radish
1. Open the pot and add in the radish chunks.
2. Combine with the beef.
3. Replace the lid, seal the Instant Pot, and set it to high pressure for 10 minutes.
4. When the time is up, use the Quick Pressure Release this time.
Final Steps
1. Open the pot and turn on the Saute.
2. Mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry and stir into the stew to thicken.
3. Add in the green onion and simmer for a few minutes, season with salt to taste.
4. Serve with a bowl of rice!
