- 0.333 c Unsalted butter, room temperature
- 0.75 c Granulated sugar
- 0.5 c Sour cream
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1.75 c Flour, all purpose or gluten free
- 0.5 tsp Baking soda
- 0.5 tsp Baking powder
- pinch sea salt, optional
Buttercream Frosting
- 0.75 c Powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp Unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 tbsp Milk
- 0.5 tsp Vanilla extract
- Sprinkles, to garnish

1. First, preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
Creating the Dough
1. In the bowl of a stand mixer, add butter and sugar.
2. Mix on high until no clumps of butter remain, about 2 minutes.
3. Then, add in sour cream, egg and vanilla.
4. Mix to combine.
5. Add in flour, baking soda, baking powder and sea salt.
6. Stir until dough forms.
Forming and Baking the Cookies
1. Use an ice cream scooper to scoop out balls of dough.
2. Place at least 3 inches apart on lined baking sheet.
3. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are set.
4. Remove cookies from oven.
Creating the Frosting and Finishing the Cookies
1. Once cookies have cooled, make buttercream frosting.
2. Add powdered sugar, butter, milk and vanilla to a clean bowl of a stand mixer.
3. Mix on high for 1 to 2 minutes or until smooth and creamy.
4. Finally, frost completely cooled cookies.
5. Add sprinkles if desired.
