Ingredients

Main Ingredients
- 20 mutton chops
- 2 Onions, medium
- 10 clove Garlic
- 4 Ginger, small pieces
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 10 c water
- 2 tbsp garam masala powder
- 6 c Basmati rice
- 1 Tomato, sliced
- 4 cucumber peppers
- 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
Whole Spices
- 6 cardamoms
- 3 black cardamom
- 2 cinnamon stick
- 2 Bay leaves
- 1 tbsp Coriander seeds
- 10 Cloves
- 1 tbsp Black pepper

Directions

Preparing the Yakni (broth)
1. In a pressure cooker, add washed chops.
2. Don't peel onions, ginger or garlic when making the broth because they are thoroughly washed and have a very thin skin. Go ahead and peel them if yours seems muddy.
3. Make a small bundle of whole spices and add it to the cooker.
4. Sprinkle some salt and pour in the water.
5. Cover the lid and pressure cook it for 15 minutes.
6. Wash, drain and let the rice soak during that time.
Preparing the main dish
1. Once the meat is tender, add it to a cooking pot with the strained broth.
2. Add in the garam masala (recipe on my page) and bring it to a boil.
3. Time to add the soaked rice.
4. Once almost 80% of the broth has been absorbed by the rice, add sliced tomatoes and chillies.
5. Sprinkle an even layer of cumin seeds and cover it.
6. Now cook it on simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is completely cooked and fluffy.
7. Enjoy it with Raita, cucumber salad and chicken roast!
