Bread Dough
- 2 c All purpose flour, sifted
- 0.5 tbsp Brown sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 0.75 c Warm water, no hotter than 110 degrees
- 1.5 tsp Instant yeast
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 1 Egg, optional for egg wash
- 3 tbsp everything bagel spice

Preparing the Yeast
1. Add your instant yeast and sugar to the warm water, stir it and set it aside while we prepare the rest.
Mixing the Ingredients
1. Mix together flour and salt.
2. Add the water and yeast mixture to the flour and stir with a spatula.
Kneading the Dough
1. Lightly flour your work surface and knead the dough until it is a soft dough ball. This should take about 8-10 minutes. If you use a stand mixer, knead on level 2 for 4 minutes
Letting the Dough Rise
1. Lightly oil a bowl, put in your dough and let it rise for 1 hour or until the dough doubles in size.
Forming the Bagels
1. Once it has doubled in size, punch out the excess air and split the dough into 4 even pieces.
2. Form dough balls and then punch holes in the middle with your finger to make the shape of the bagel.
Boiling the Bagels
1. Boil water in a shallow pan, add 1 tbsp of honey.
2. Boil the dough for 1 to 2 minutes on each side. (more is you want them really chewy
Preparing for Baking
1. Put the boiled bagels on a cookie tray, brush the top with egg to help with the browning process (optional), and to help your toppings stick.
2. Add the topping of your choice, we are using everything seasoning.
Baking and Cooling
1. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Let cool and enjoy!
