Ingredients

Rice and Gandules
- 2 ribs
- 0.5 c Onion, diced
- 0.5 c peppers
- 0.25 c Cilantro, diced
- 2 tsp Healthy Rican Adobo
- 2 tsp Healthy Rican Sazón
- 1 tbsp Healthy Rican Sofrito
- 1 tbsp Low sodium soy sauce, optional
- 1 15 oz. can gandules
- 3 c water
- 3 c jasmine rice

Directions

Preparing the ribs and vegetables
1. In a large pot, add the ribs with a bit of oil and stir fry on high heat.
2. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the ribs start to brown.
3. Add the chopped onion, peppers, cilantro, and seasonings and mix well.
4. Also add the soy sauce if using.
Adding the gandules and rice
1. Add the gandules and water, and allow it to come to a boil.
2. Once the liquid boils, add the rice and mix well.
3. The liquid should be approximately 1/4 inch above the rice.
4. At this point, try the liquid to make sure the flavor is to your liking.
5. Add additional seasonings or salt to taste if needed.
Final cooking steps
1. Once the liquid evaporates a little, cover and reduce the heat to low.
2. Allow to cook for 20-25 minutes approximately until the rice is fluffy and completely cooked through.
