Pork Belly Recipe
- 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 2 lb pork belly
- 1 tsp Sichuan peppercorns
- 4 clove Garlic, finely chopped
- 1 Shallot, finely chopped
- 0.25 c Soy sauce
- 0.25 c Chinese Shaoxing wine
- 3 tbsp Dark soy sauce
- 0.25 c rock sugar
- 3 fresh ginger slices
- 3 dried bay leaves
- 3 whole star anise

Preparing the Pork Belly
1. In a deep pan, add oil and cook the pork belly for 5 minutes over medium-high heat.
2. Add the garlic and shallots and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
3. Add the rest of the ingredients and 4 cups of water and bring to a boil.
4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1.5-2 hours with the lid on until the pork is tender.
5. Turn the heat to high with the lid off to thicken the sauce.
Serving Suggestion
1. Enjoy with white rice and bok choy!
