- 1 c Brown sugar
- 1 can Coconut milk

Preparation of Rice
1. Soak however much rice you want in water overnight.
Preparation of Banana Leaves
1. The next day: Clean banana leaves by soaking it in hot water, wiping it down, then putting it over the stove to make it pliable.
Wrapping the Rice in Banana Leaves
1. Add 2 scoops of rice to the banana leaves and wrap. Roll and tuck the banana leaf under the rice, fold one side inwards, shake rice to that side, fold other side inwards, shake to that side, and roll again until the end.
2. Tie suman with another suman with 2 strings super tightly so the water doesn’t come in.
Cooking the Suman
1. Add suman to a pot full of water. Boil suman for 2.5 hours until the suman is sticky.
Preparing the Sauce
1. Combine brown sugar and coconut milk on medium low heat for 15 minutes until it gets thick.
