Main Ingredients
- 3 c cake flour
- 2 tbsp baking powder
- 0.5 tsp kosher salt
- 1 c butter
- 1.5 c granulated cane sugar
- 0.5 c plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 5 large eggs
- 0.5 c whole milk
Red Velvet Portion
- 0.333 c unsweetened cocoa powder
- 0.333 c milk
- 1 tbsp red food coloring

1. Preheat oven to 350F.
2. Line a large loaf cake pan with parchment paper so that you have “sleeves” for easy removal.
Mixing Wet Ingredients
1. In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the butter, sugar, and yogurt.
2. Beat on HIGH speed for 2 minutes.
3. Stir in the vanilla and milk.
4. Mix in the eggs one at a time.
Mixing Dry Ingredients
1. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together.
2. Add to the wet ingredients bowl.
Preparing Red Velvet Batter
1. Remove half of the batter to a separate bowl and add in the additional milk, cocoa powder, and red food coloring.
2. Mix just until combined.
Prepare the batters
1. Alternating between the two batters, add the cake batter to the prepared loaf pan.
2. Use a butter knife or skewer to swirl the batters together.
1. Bake for 55–65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
2. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
Finishing Touches
1. Dust with powdered sugar or add a glaze to enjoy.
