Ingredients

Dough
- 3 cups All purpose flour
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 cup water
Lentil topping
- 1 cup Chana daal
- 4 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 tbsp crushed garlic
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 0.5 tsp Black pepper
- 1 tsp Salt
- 0.5 tsp paprika powder
- 3 tbsp Tomato paste
- 2 cups Chicken Broth, or water
Yogurt sauce
- 1 crushed Garlic
- 5 tbsp Yogurt
- water, for smoother consistency
Filling
- 1 pound Ground beef
- 1 chopped onion
- 3 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
- 3 crushed garlic
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 3 Onions
- 0.5 Red bell pepper
- 1 bunch fresh coriander
- Salt, to taste
- Dry mint

Directions

Instructions for Dough Preparation
1. In a bowl, mix all the ingredients for dough.
2. Knead until smooth and no longer sticky.
3. Pour 1 tsp oil on top and spread it with your fingers.
4. Cover and let it sit in the fridge overnight.
Instructions for Chana Daal Preparation
1. Wash and soak chana daal.
2. Add oil in a pot and once hot, throw in the garlic.
3. Sauté for a 30 seconds before adding in the spices.
4. Then add the tomato paste and finally add the broth.
5. Mix it well before adding in the lentils.
6. Cover and cook for 20-30 minutes or until daal is fully cooked.
Instructions for Filling Preparation
1. Cook the filling by caramelizing the onions and garlic.
2. Then add cumin seeds and ground beef.
3. Fully cook before adding in the spices.
4. Mix and place it in a bowl to let it completely cool down.
5. Chop the herbs and add it to the cooked beef.
6. Mix it well.
Instructions for Making Mantu
1. Cut 4 even portions of the dough.
2. With the help of a rolling pin, make every dough ball as flat as possible.
3. You want to make at least 9 square sheets from each dough ball.
4. Add the filling, make the sides wet before creating the desired shape.
5. Steam it for 5-7 minutes.
Instructions for Assembling
1. Spread yogurt on a plate.
2. Place mantu on it.
3. Add one more layer of yogurt.
4. Then add daal and finally sprinkle dried mint to finish the dish.
