Ingredients

- 0.25 Baguette, cubed
- 1.5 sticks Unsalted butter, divided
- Kosher salt and black pepper
- 0.5 tsp Dried basil
- 0.5 tsp Dried oregano
- 0.5 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 0.5 c Fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 c Parmesan, divided
- 2 heads Garlic, peeled and crushed
- 1 lb thick spaghetti

Directions

Prepare the breadcrumbs
1. Add the bread to a food processor and pulse until finely chopped.
2. Melt half a stick of butter in a large skillet and add the breadcrumbs.
3. Season with a pinch of salt, pepper, dried basil, dried oregano and 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes.
4. Cook, stirring often, until golden brown.
5. Stir in 1/4 cup parmesan and 2 tablespoons chopped parsley.
6. Transfer to a dish and set aside.
Prepare the pasta and sauce
1. Wipe skillet clean, and then add the remaining butter.
2. Set over low heat and add the garlic.
3. Add remaining 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes and a bit more cracked black pepper.
4. Cook over low heat until just starting to brown.
5. Cook pasta according to package direction but save 1 cup of pasta cooking water.
Combine and serve
1. Add pasta to skillet along with remaining chopped parsley and parmesan.
2. Add more black pepper and as much of the reserved cooking liquid as needed to create a sauce.
3. Stir until the cheese has melted and the sauce has thickened, adding more water if needed.
4. Serve with lots of the breadcrumbs on top, parmesan and parsley.
5. Enjoy!
