- 1 lb Ground beef
- 1 tsp Kosher salt
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 White onion, thinly sliced
- 0.25 lb yellow American cheese
- 1 c Ketchup
- 1 ketchup mustard
- 1 c Kewpie mayo
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 0.25 hot and spicy pickles or sweet relish
- 1 pack Potato Buns, toasted
- 1 tbsp Unsalted butter
- pinch Kosher salt
- Vlasic(™) Hot and Spicy Pickles

1. Mix your seasonings into one bowl.
2. To a large saucepan, add your unsalted butter.
3. As the butter begins to melt, turn your heat to medium low.
4. Add your onions and let sit untouched for about five minutes.
5. Add a pinch of kosher salt.
6. The salt will release any excess water from the onions as it begins to caramelize.
7. Move the onions around in the pan every few minutes or so until they begin to brown.
8. Remove from the pan.
9. Grab your ground beef and roll into small sized balls.
10. Place the burgers onto the hot pan letting sit for about a minute, then smashing using parchment paper and a metal spatula.
11. Season the burger on one side.
12. Add the caramelized onions to the top of the burger and flip carefully.
13. Immediately put the cheese on the burger once flipped.
14. The cheese will melt naturally and evenly while the burger finishes cooking.
15. Using another pan, add your potato bread to toast.
16. To make your sauce, simply mix the ketchup, mustard, mayo, Worcestershire sauce, pickles, and garlic powder.
17. Assemble your burger with the bottom bun, sauce, hot and spicy pickles, two smash patties, more caramelized onions, and the top bun that’s coated in sauce.
18. Serve and enjoy.
