Ingredients

Ingredients for Chicken
- 1 lb Chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 1.5 c Flour
- 2 Eggs, beaten
- 2 tbsp water
- 3 c panko bread crumbs
- 1 tsp Salt
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Katsu Sauce
- 0.25 c Ketchup
- 2.5 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 0.5 tbsp Sugar
- 0.125 tsp Garlic powder
- 0.125 tsp Onion powder

Directions

Katsu sauce
1. Place all ingredients into a bowl and combine.
2. Set aside in the fridge for later.
Chicken Katsu
1. Preheat oven to 200F.
2. Place chicken breasts onto a cutting board and cover with plastic wrap and beat until it is about 1/4 inch thick.
3. For breading in three separate bowls, add beaten eggs and water into one bowl.
4. In another bowl add flour and in the last bowl add panko bread crumbs with salt.
5. First place chicken into flour, shake off extra.
6. Place into egg batter; let excess drip off.
7. Lastly, place chicken in panko bread crumbs covering completely.
8. Place onto a plate or lined baking sheet.
9. Prepare another baking sheet with a crisping rack.
10. In a large pot, add oil until about half an inch high.
11. Heat until the temperature of 350F.
12. Place chicken in and fry on each side for about a minute or two until crust has set.
13. Once chicken is all fried, add to crisping rack and bake in the oven for 7-9 minutes depending on the thickness of your chicken.
14. The internal temperature should be 165F.
15. Once cooked, remove from oven and cut into thin strips.
16. Pour katsu sauce on top and enjoy with white rice.
