Shrimp Toast
- 8 oz Shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 6 slices of bread
- 1 large egg white
- 0.5 tbsp Corn starch
- 0.5 lap cheong
- 1 scallion stalk
- 1 tsp minced ginger
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- pinch White pepper
- Rooted Fare’s Black Sesame Crunchy Butter

Preparing the Shrimp Paste
1. Place the shrimp in a food processor and blitz until it forms a paste.
2. Place the shrimp in a bowl, and add the egg white, cornstarch, lap cheong, scallions, and ginger.
3. Season with salt and pepper, and mix until thoroughly incorporated.
Preparing the Shrimp Toast
1. Spread the shrimp mixture onto the sliced bread.
2. Depending on the bread you use, you should come out with 4-6 slices of shrimp toast.
Cooking the Shrimp Toast
1. Heat a pan with some oil on medium low heat.
2. Place the toast shrimp side down and cook for about 2 minutes, or until it gets a nice light brown color.
3. Flip and lightly toast the bread on the other side.
4. Repeat till all the shrimp toast is cooked.
Serving the Shrimp Toast
1. While still warm, add a dollop of the Rooted Fare Black Sesame Crunchy Butter on top, and spread evenly.
2. You can cut the toast into triangles if serving as an appetizer.
3. Best eaten while warm.
