Truffle Oil Filet Mignon
- 4 filet mignon steaks
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, fresh ground, to taste
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 0.5 c Balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp Unsalted butter

Preparing the steaks
1. Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper.
2. Heat a large, heavy frying pan over medium-high heat with a coating of olive oil.
3. Cook the steaks to your preferred doneness, approximately 3-5 minutes per side.
4. Once cooked, transfer the steaks to a platter and let them rest, loosely covered with aluminum foil, while you prepare the sauce.
Preparing the sauce
1. Using the same pan over medium-high heat, add the vinegar to deglaze, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
2. Cook until the liquid slightly reduces and thickens, around 3 minutes.
3. Remove the pan from heat and whisk in the butter until it forms a smooth sauce.
Serving the dish
1. For serving, place the steaks onto individual plates, top with the prepared sauce, and lightly drizzle with a small amount of truffle oil.
2. Enjoy.
