Directions

Preparation
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Turn your stove on to medium heat to start making “loose date jelly.”
3. Bring dates and water to a boil.
4. Take it off the heat and add the baking soda.
5. Set it aside.
Making the Cake
1. Cream the butter and sugar.
2. Then add eggs and vanilla extract.
3. Mix well.
4. Now add flour and salt.
5. Once everything is perfectly mixed, add the baking powder.
6. Once that’s well combined, dump it in the pan and bake it for 35 minutes or until it’s completely cooked (check the middle with a skewer to be sure).
Making the Caramel
1. Add butter, brown sugar, cream, salt.
2. Bring it to a boil while whisking it constantly.
3. Once it thickens, set it aside for 5 minutes before adding the vanilla extract.
Final Steps
1. Poke holes into the cake and pour that caramel all over the cake.
2. Let it soak it all in before flipping it off the pan.
3. Pour some more sticky sauce on to the cake.
4. Add sliced almonds to the top.
5. Best enjoyed when warm!
