For the bread
- 3.5 cup Bread flour
- 0.25 cup Light brown sugar
- 3 tsp Active dry yeast
- 0.75 cup Whole milk, warmed to 95-100 degrees F
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Kosher salt
- 1 cup Pineapple Juice
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 4 Tbs Unsalted butter, softened
For the tangzhong (helps to make the bread fluffy)
- 2 Tbs Water
- 2 Tbs Whole milk
- 2 Tbs Bread flour

For the tangzhong
1. To a pot on medium heat, add water, flour, and milk repeatedly stirring until a paste.
2. Remove from the heat and let it sit aside.
For the bread
1. Heat milk until it reaches 95-100 degrees F.
2. Add yeast and stir until it activates.
3. Let it sit covered for about 5-7 minutes.
4. Sift your flour into a large bowl.
5. Add brown sugar, salt, and mix.
6. Add in yeast mixture, pineapple juice, egg, vanilla extract, and knead.
7. Add tangzhong, and one tbsp of butter at a time.
8. Once the dough forms, roll into a ball and place in a greased bowl.
9. Cover and let it rest for an hour letting it rise.
10. Once it rises, divide the dough into eight equal pieces and roll into balls.
11. Cover and let it proof for another hour.
12. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
13. Brush the buns with egg wash and sesame seeds.
14. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
15. Brush the tops with butter.
16. Serve immediately.
