Directions

Preparation
1. Butter your pan and slice then cube the bread.
2. Place it in the baking pan.
3. Add pecans on top.
4. Set it aside.
Making the Custard
1. You can do this on a stove. I lack patience sometimes so I used a microwave to bring the cream and milk to lukewarm. This should take about 90 seconds.
2. Then add saffron milk, sugar, butter, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon powder.
3. Mix well and crack your eggs.
4. Make sure the yolk and egg white is completely incorporated before pouring it on top of the cubed bread.
Preheating the Oven
1. Usually, I would suggest preheating the oven.
2. In this situation, start heating your oven once you soak the bread in the egg mixture.
3. It will give it enough time to soak in the custard before baking.
Baking and Serving
1. You will be baking this (uncovered) at 350F for 50 minutes.
2. Make sure the custard is completely cooked through.
3. Let it sit for an additional 10 minutes if necessary.
4. Once out of the oven, let it rest for 10 minutes before giving it a light coating of sifted powdered sugar.
5. Make a quick white sugar sauce for extra goodness.
6. Enjoy it with fresh fruits on the side!
